Just 30 minutes from Brisbane, Samford Museum brings Queensland’s early settlers  to life with real buildings, vintage tools, hands-on activities and passionate volunteers. A perfect day out for families, school groups, and history lovers, we’re open Wednesday & Sunday 10am – 4pm, and groups by arrangement. Tickets are $6, $2 for kids and under-5s go free!

Why Visit the Museum

Step back in time and explore the rich history of early Samford at this charming village-style museum. Wander through original buildings like the blacksmith’s shop, schoolhouse, and railway station, each filled with authentic artefacts and stories that reveal how settlers built the community.

There’s plenty to engage visitors of all ages. Watch live blacksmithing demonstrations on the first Sunday of each month, try hands-on copper workshops safe for all ages, and explore vintage farm machinery. Don’t miss the replica 1872 schoolhouse or the War Time Memories exhibit in the original Grovely Railway Station. History enthusiasts can also access extensive archives and research resources, supported by passionate volunteers.
