Heritage skills in action
Monthly Blacksmithing & Copper Craft Come & Try
See the blacksmith at work on the first Sunday of each month (10am to 3pm) and discover the vital role they once played in Samford’s rural life—shoeing horses, repairing tools and equipment, and keeping the community running smoothly.
On these days, we host informal ‘come & try’ cold‑copper workshops, ideal for participants of all ages—from curious children to adults—where you can shape copper into pieces like rings or bracelets using only hand tools, with no heating involved.
These sessions offer a hands‑on introduction to traditional metalcraft, providing both a creative experience and a deeper appreciation for the blacksmith’s place in local history.
Our blacksmith also accepts work for sharpening garden tools and other tools on request. Contact us for a quote.
